Longxi Pagoda

Longxi Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Longxi Pagoda is located in Shuiyang Town, Xuanzhou District, Xuancheng City.

Legend has it that it was built in the second year of the Chiwu era during the Eastern Wu Dynasty by General Ding Feng while he was stationed at Jinbaowei, serving as a watchtower. In August 2010, the Xuanzhou District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication invited ancient architecture experts from the Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Center to conduct surveys and design restoration plans for Longxi Pagoda. During this period, the pagoda’s underground chamber was excavated, where a brick container related to the pagoda’s reconstruction was discovered.

Protected area: 25 meters east, south, west, and north of the pagoda.

Construction control zone: 30 meters east, south, west, and north beyond the protected area.

Shuiyang Town: Shuiyang Town is located in the northern part of Xuanzhou District, Xuancheng City, at the junction of four cities (Nanjing, Wuhu, Ma'anshan, and Xuancheng) across two provinces (Anhui and Jiangsu). It features a polder landscape, a typical Jiangnan water town with crisscrossing ditches and rivers. The town covers a total area of 205 square kilometers, with a population of 100,000, arable land of 101,000 mu, and water surface of 50,000 mu. It administers 4 community neighborhood committees and 24 villages, including an urban built-up area of 1.6 square kilometers with a population of 15,000.
