Zhongda Building of Fushan Middle School

The Zhongda Building of Fushan Middle School is a cultural heritage protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Zhongda Building of Fushan Middle School is located in Zongyang County, Anqing City, dating back to 1926.

It was completed in the 16th year of the Republic of China (1927), featuring a Romanesque architectural style. The two-story building covers an area of 858 square meters. It has a roof covered with small blue tiles, walls made of blue bricks, and a terrazzo floor made of "cement." There are precast cement railings on the outside of the corridors on the southern side, with passageways on both sides of the central hall and wooden staircases erected. The upper and lower floors on the eastern and western sides of the staircases were former classrooms. The central hall upstairs served as the former library, while the one downstairs was the former academic affairs office—both have now been repurposed. The building was bombed by Japanese aircraft in 1941, and repair marks can be seen at the eastern and western corners.

In 2012, the Zhongda Building of Fushan Middle School was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Anhui Province.

Protected area: 2 meters outside the wall base on the east, west, and south sides, and 50 meters on the north side.

Construction control zone: 3 meters outside the protected area on the east, south, west, and north sides.

It enjoys a superior geographical location and convenient transportation. It is 30 kilometers from the county seat and 70 kilometers from Anqing Development Zone and Anqing Port. The Fushan exit of the Hefei–Tongling–Huangshan Expressway runs through the town.
