Wu Family Residence

The Wu Family Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Haishu District.

The Wu Family Residence is a residential building from the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 1,260 square meters with a built-up area of 910 square meters. Along the central axis from south to north are, in sequence, the main gate, the main hall, the central courtyard, and the living quarters. The main hall and the living quarters feature a single-eave, seven-bay wide structure and a double-eave, single-slope roof, respectively. On the east and west sides are double-eave buildings serving as reception rooms, studies, kitchens, and utility rooms. The front and rear sections are interconnected, with corridors on the left and right and coiled-roofed pavilions overhead, featuring carved floral motifs on the components. At the eastern end of the residence is a waterside pavilion with a pond and rockery. The gate wall is adorned with brick-carved patterns.
