Hall of the Medicine King

The Hall of the Medicine King is a cultural relic protection unit of Haishu District.

The Hall of the Medicine King was built in the 47th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1708) to enshrine Shennong, the Divine Farmer. The existing structure was reconstructed during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1821–1850). It consists of a main gate, main hall, and wing rooms. The main hall features a single-eave hip-and-gable roof and five bays, with a front porch in the form of a raised beam hall. It houses numerous wood carvings and brick carvings themed around traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, which are especially precious. It was renovated during the construction of Tianyi Square in 2002.
