Wang Residence

The Wang Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by the Ningbo Municipal Government.

The Wang Residence is located at No. 155 Zhongshan West Road, Haishu District, Ningbo. Built in 1935, it features a mixed brick-and-wood structure. The courtyard is serene, with the exterior walls decorated in relatively regular geometric patterns. The building is generally well-preserved. Originally, it was the residence of Wang Wenhhan, an industrial and commercial entrepreneur during the Republican era.

According to records, the house was built in 1940, with the original owner being Xu Yongyan, a real estate businessman. This residence is one of the top ten outstanding modern buildings in Ningbo, featuring an intact layout and good preservation. It blends Western architectural styles with traditional Chinese design, holding significant historical, scientific, and artistic value for the study of Ningbo’s architectural history. In September 1999, it was designated as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage conservation sites in Ningbo.
