The Ming Pond is part of the garden and leisure area of Tianyi Pavilion. The garden and leisure area features a series of tourist attractions, including the Ming Pond, rockeries, corridors, a stele forest, the Hundred Geese Pavilion, and the Gathering Radiance Hall. These attractions are thoughtfully arranged and staggered in layout, achieving the artistic effect of “created by man yet resembling nature,” providing a space for leisure and enjoying the scenery of Jiangnan-style gardens.

In 1994, the Ningbo Museum merged with the Tianyi Pavilion Cultural Relics Preservation Office to establish the Tianyi Pavilion Museum. Adjacent to the picturesque Moon Lake, it is the oldest existing library in China, the oldest library in Asia, and one of the three oldest family-owned libraries in the world. It has now expanded into three major functional areas: book culture, exhibitions, and garden leisure. Integrating book culture, social history, and art and culture, it serves as a window showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of Ningbo.

Tianyi Community: The Tianyi Community spans an area of approximately 0.26 square kilometers, with its eastern boundary along Yanyue Street, southern border along Liuting Street, western edge along Changchun Road, and northern side adjacent to Sanbanqiao Street.

The Tianyi Community Neighborhood Committee was established on June 23, 2001.
