The ruins of the ancient path at Shanghua Mountain Stone Quarry are a cultural heritage site protected by Haishu District.

The ruins of the ancient path at Shanghua Mountain Stone Quarry are located in Zhoujia Natural Village, Yanjiang Village, Haishu District. There are no historical records about this ancient path, but according to quarrying data, it dates back to the “Ming Dynasty.” It served as a transport route for stone blocks extracted from the Shanghua Mountain quarry. It is said that at the time, moving large stone materials required over thirty people to carry stones weighing up to a thousand kilograms from the quarry mouth down to the mountain foot before they could be transported by wooden carts. The path winds down from the Shanghua Mountain quarry at the mountaintop to the mountain foot behind the village, with an elevation drop of 113 meters. The surrounding area of the ancient path is covered with dense forests, and thick layers of quarry waste and debris can be seen. The existing section of the ancient path is over 563 meters long and varies in width from 2.5 to 2.6 meters. The entire path forms an S-shape and is mainly paved with crushed stone fragments.

The discovery of the ruins of the ancient path at Shanghua Mountain Stone Quarry bears witness to the arduousness of stone transportation in ancient times and reflects the diligence, wisdom, and achievements of the working people in the Yanjiang area. It holds significant historical research value. In 2010, it was designated as part of the ninth batch of district-level cultural heritage sites in Yinzhou District, and in 2016, it was transferred to Haishu District following an administrative division adjustment in Ningbo City.
