Former Site of the "Mansion" at Cold Bay

The Former Site of the "Mansion" at Cold Bay is a cultural relic protection unit of Haishu District.

The ruins of the Cold Bay Mansion are located on Cold Bay Mountain in Hongling Natural Village, Wuyan Village, Hengjie Town, Haishu District. According to over 80-year-old veteran revolutionary Weng Shaochu, this mansion was built during the Republican era and served as a key activity site for the New Fourth Army after their northern retreat. The site is roughly square-shaped, with sides about 50 meters in length, and consists of multiple sections including lodging, water collection, and training areas. At present, the surrounding area is densely forested, and the buildings have fallen into disrepair. Only the stone foundations of the lodging area in the southeast corner show clear signs of past activity. The discovery of this mansion provides valuable physical evidence for studying the revolutionary history of our district and holds significant historical educational value. In 2010, it was designated as part of the ninth batch of district-level cultural relic protection units in Yinzhou District, and in 2016, it was transferred to Haishu District following an administrative division adjustment in Ningbo City.
