Yang Shangshu’s Residence is a cultural heritage site protected by Haishu District.

Yang Shangshu’s Residence is located in Hou’an Natural Village, Xiyang Village, Shiqi Subdistrict, Haishu District. Judging from its structure, it is a Ming Dynasty building that was renovated during the Republican era. The main complex faces south and covers an area of 310.57 square meters. It has a traditional courtyard layout, with structures along the north-south central axis arranged in sequence: the entrance hall, screen wall, main hall, and rear hall.

The entrance hall is a single-eave, flush-gable-roofed single-story building with three bays, which was later modified. In the courtyard, there is a single-slope screen wall on a stone base, with a blue brick wall. The main hall is a single-eave, flush-gable-roofed high single-story building with three bays and two side rooms. The central bay features a post-and-lintel system with a five-rafter front single-step and rear double-step beam frame. The beams and brackets are decorated with cloud plates and spandrels, all intricately and vividly carved. The side bays use central columns, with a depth of eight columns and nine purlins in a post-and-lintel structure. The side rooms have a depth of seven columns and nine purlins, also in a post-and-lintel structure. The floors are all paved with relatively neat stone slabs. Moon gates are set on both sides of the front porch. The rear hall is a single-eave, flush-gable-roofed single-story building, now representing Qing Dynasty architecture. On the east side by the river, there used to be a Buddhist prayer hall belonging to his mother, but it no longer exists.

According to the "Yinxian General Annals," a Yang Shangshu once lived here during the Ming Dynasty, hence the name.

This residence has a long history and an intact layout. Despite multiple renovations, it still retains the style of the Ming Dynasty and bears the characteristics of that era. In September 2010, it was designated as the ninth batch of district-level cultural heritage sites in Yinzhou District. In 2016, following the administrative division adjustment of Ningbo City, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Haishu District.
