The Office of the Censorate's Chief Official Residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Haishu District.

The Office of the Censorate's Chief Official Residence is located in Maolin Natural Village, Maoxin Village, Gulin Town, Haishu District. Based on architectural and textual analysis, it was built during the Ming Dynasty. The main structure faces south and consists of single-eave hipped-roof flat-roofed buildings, covering an area of 450.75 square meters.

The entrance hall is five bays wide, three pillars and five purlins deep, with the side bays being five pillars and five purlins deep, all featuring post-and-lintel construction; the central bay features a stone "eight-character" gate wall with a Sumeru pedestal, adorned with carvings of the Eight Immortals, cloud motifs, floral sprays, dragon patterns, and vases; the wooden door plaque reads: “Office of the Censorate's Chief Official Residence, Home of the Academician of Literary Grace.” The wooden doors are later additions. Both side wings are three bays wide, with the central bay featuring a raised beam structure four purlins deep, and the side bays three pillars and four purlins deep. The main hall is a high flat-roofed building, five bays wide, with the central bay featuring a five-rafter beam and double steps front and back, the side bays five pillars and nine purlins deep, post-and-lintel style; the front porch is supported by camel hump beams and bracket sets, the golden column beams are delicate and simple, with sturdy short columns between the beams, and no cobwebs inside the building.

The building is largely intact, with a stable structure, exhibiting distinct characteristics of Ming Dynasty architecture. It provides a tangible basis for studying the development history of ancient architecture in our district and holds significant historical value. In September 2010, it was designated as the ninth batch of district-level cultural relic protection units in Yinzhou District, and was transferred to Haishu District following the 2016 administrative division adjustment of Ningbo City.

Maoxin Village: Maoxin Village is located in the western suburbs of Gulin Town, Haishu District, Ningbo City, adjacent to Yanshan Village of Yijiang Town to the west, connected to Shenjiao Village and Sanxing Village of Gulin Town to the southeast, and bordering Longsan Village to the north.
