Jiapu Zhuang

Jiapu Zhuang is a cultural heritage site protected by Haishu District.

Jiapu Zhuang is located in Liangzhu Cultural Park, Liangzhu Village, Gaoqiao Town, Haishu District, and is identified as a Qing Dynasty building based on its architectural style. The main structure faces south and is composed of the main house and a stone memorial archway to the south. The main house has a flush-gable roof, is three bays wide, and features five columns and seven rafters in depth, with a post-and-lintel structure. The eave columns are adorned with brackets, the eave beams are camel hump beams, and decorated with scrollwork carvings on the spandrels. The main house has both front and rear courtyards; the front courtyard has a stone gatehouse built on the east side, with a brick-paved gate tower and double doors, covered by a double-slope tiled roof with an arched ridge. The stone memorial archway is situated 19 meters away from the house. It is a single-bay, small-scale archway constructed entirely of stone, with stone lions placed on the pillars. The lower horizontal beam features the carved characters “Jiapu” (literally “Farmstead”) on the front side, above which is a string course, followed by a double-slope roof. Cloud-shaped wing decorations are placed on the outer sides of the pillars at either end of the lintel. This archway was newly built at a later time.

Jiapu Zhuang retains a complete layout and stable structure, making it a typical example of Qing Dynasty residential architecture with certain historical value. In July 2014, it was designated as part of the tenth batch of district-level cultural heritage sites in Yinzhou District, and was incorporated into Haishu District following the 2016 administrative division adjustment of Ningbo City.
