Yingzhou Jiewu Archway

Yingzhou Jiewu Archway is a protected cultural heritage site in Ningbo.

Yingzhou Jiewu Archway is located on the south side of Liuting in Yu Lake, Haishu District, Ningbo. In September 1992, it was announced as one of the first municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites in Ningbo. It features a three-bay, four-pillar structure, with four pillars and parts of the architrave still extant. The architrave bears the inscription “Yingzhou Jiewu.” This grand archway was erected in the 39th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1611) by Governor Gan Shijia and others in honor of Yao Zhiguang and other scholars of the Bingwu examination class. The archway holds significant physical reference value for the study of the city’s local history and the development of stone-carved archway architectural art.
