The Former Residence of the Xu Family

The former residence of the Xu family is a municipal-level cultural heritage conservation unit in Ningbo.

The former residence of the Xu family is located at Nos. 7 and 8, Guijing Lane, Haishu District, Ningbo. In September 1999, it was designated as one of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage conservation sites in Ningbo. This Qing Dynasty building has a main structure facing south, with beams and brackets adorned with exquisitely carved decorations such as bats and cranes. The rear building is a double-eaved structure with a rolled shed roof and an upturned gable front. The wing rooms are also double-eaved structures and, according to oral accounts, were originally used as a library.
