Zhang Family Ancestral Hall

Zhang Family Ancestral Hall is a cultural tourism attraction.

Zhang Family Ancestral Hall is located at No. 70 Qingshi Street, Haishu District, Ningbo. It is a Ming Dynasty structure and was designated as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites in Ningbo in September 1999. Facing south, it consists of a gatehouse and a main hall. The gatehouse faces south and features painted decorations (most of which have peeled off), while the main hall is a single-eave, flush-gable roof building of elevated design.

It is reported that this site was originally the ancestral hall of the Zhang family and later served as staff dormitories for the Ningbo Wool Textile Factory. The Zhang Family Ancestral Hall is one of the few well-preserved Ming Dynasty buildings in Ningbo’s old urban area. Its use of large materials and simple style holds certain significance for the study of Ming Dynasty architectural styles in the Ningbo region.
