Yongshan Pavilion

Yongshan Pavilion is located on the east bank of Nantang River along the middle section of Nanjiao Road in Haishu District, Ningbo. In August 2003, it was designated as one of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage sites in Ningbo. Built in the third year of the Guangxu reign (1877), it is a street-crossing pavilion that spans Nanjiao Road from east to west. The pavilion features a single-eave flush-gable roof, is 10.5 meters long and 4.4 meters wide, and is built with a raised-beam structure supported by eight square stone pillars. Stone pillars in the central and side bays are each inscribed with a couplet written by Jiang Mingquan during the Qing Dynasty. The central bay couplet reads: “Gazing at the ever-spring city, every step leads to a more delightful scene; Passing through Yongshan Pavilion, why not take a moment to sit?”

This pavilion is currently the only remaining street-crossing pavilion within the urban area. It is well-preserved and holds certain cultural heritage value.
