Lin Family Residence on Henghe Street

Lin Family Residence on Henghe Street is located at No. 38 Henghe Street and No. 13 Sunjia Lane, Haishu District, Ningbo. In August 2003, it was designated as one of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites in Ningbo. It is an architectural structure from the Republican era.

The residence is divided into two independent east and west courtyards, built in a Western architectural style during the Republican period. The eastern courtyard has a main gate facing north, adorned with concrete terrazzo Roman columns, and bears the inscription “德门重辉” (meaning “Virtuous Gate Shines Again”) above the lintel. The western courtyard has a layout in the shape of the Chinese character “工” (work), forming a compact and distinctive building from the Republican era. This residence holds certain reference value for the study of the architectural development history of Ningbo.
