After the Republican period, the Confucian school was abolished, leaving only the gateway, which was later restored after the liberation.

The gateway is designed in an eight-character, memorial archway style, featuring a hip-and-gable roof with four elegantly upturned eaves. The bracket sets under the eaves, shaped like ruyi (scepter-like ornaments), are made of cement, exquisitely crafted and well-preserved.

The preservation of this gateway holds significant reference value for the study of Ningbo's local culture and architectural history.
