Yuan Residence by South Lake

The Yuan Residence by South Lake is located at No. 6 Maojia Lane, Haishu District, Ningbo. In April 2005, it was designated as one of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites in Ningbo. This Qing Dynasty building features a main structure that faces south with a traditional three-sided courtyard layout, adorned with five-horse-head gables on its walls.

Research indicates that the original owner, surnamed Yuan, ran a money shop during the late Qing and early Republican periods and was a descendant of the esteemed Yuan family of Ningbo. The residence has a well-preserved, orderly layout, utilizes large construction materials, and features exquisite craftsmanship, giving it significant cultural heritage value.
