Yang Residence on Yanshi Street

The Yang Residence on Yanshi Street is located at No. 29, Yanshi Street, Haishu District, Ningbo. It was built during the Qing Dynasty. In August 2003, it was designated as one of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage sites in Ningbo. The original owner of the Yang Residence was Yang Fang, courtesy name Qitang, who was the first prominent bureaucratic merchant after the opening of Shanghai as a treaty port. When the Lu Family's Baojinglou Library was scattered due to war, he contributed 2,600 taels of silver to purchase seven or eight-tenths of its collection, bequeathed their free return to the Lu family, and funded the carving and publication of the Guangxu-era "Yinxian County Annals."
