Xiaowen Street Traditional Architectural Complex

Xiaowen Street Traditional Architectural Complex was designated as one of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage conservation sites in Ningbo in April 2005.

①The residential building at No. 84 Xiaowen Street, Haishu District, Ningbo, was built during the Republican era. According to research, the owner of the house had the surname Dong and worked as an accountant at Yantai Money Shop.

②The residence at No. 88 Xiaowen Street, Haishu District, Ningbo, was built during the Republican era. The main building faces south and features a flush gable roof. The gable ends are adorned with black-and-white paintings depicting themes such as orchids, longevity peaches, and meander patterns.

③The residence at No. 90 Xiaowen Street, Haishu District, Ningbo, was built in the late Qing Dynasty. The main building faces south, with cloud motifs and meander-patterned bracket arms adorning the front eaves’ moon beams.

④The residence at No. 92–94 Xiaowen Street, Haishu District, Ningbo, was built during the Republican era.

This architectural complex holds certain reference value for the study of the history of architectural development in Ningbo.
