Shangshu Bridge

Shangshu Bridge is located at Liuting on Moon Lake in Haishu District, Ningbo. In December 2010, it was designated as one of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection sites in Haishu District.

Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, it underwent its last major renovation in 1965. The bridge spans east to west across Moon Lake and is a single-arch flat bridge with piers constructed from layered stone slabs. Research indicates that the bridge was first built by the Tang Dynasty monk Yunzhen and was initially named Zhuangzhuang West Bridge. It was later renovated during the Ming Dynasty by Lu Shike and renamed Shangshu Bridge, the name which is still used today. This bridge is a witness to the thousand-year history of Moon Lake and plays a significant role in the research and exploration of the local historical culture of the area.
