Baikui Ancestral Architecture Complex

The Baikui Ancestral Architecture Complex is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Baikui Ancestral Architecture Complex is composed of several buildings, including the Shi Family Residence at No. 601 Zhenming Road, Haishu District, Ningbo; the Shi Family Residence north of Baokui Temple; the Shi Family Residence at No. 4-1 Baokui Lane; the Shi Family Residence at No. 4-2 Baokui Lane; the Shi Family Residence at No. 4-3 Baokui Lane; the Shi Family Residence at No. 5-1 Baokui Lane; the Shi Family Residence at No. 5-2 Baokui Lane; the Shi Family Residence at No. 5-3 Baokui Lane; and the Shi Family Residence at No. 7 Baokui Lane. In December 2010, it was designated as one of the third batch of district-level cultural relics protection sites in Haishu District.

The area was once named after Baokui Jing She (“Baokui Retreat”), built by Shi Hao to house imperial calligraphy works from Emperors Xuanzong and Xiaozong of the Song Dynasty. Both sides of the lane retain a collection of Ming and Qing dynasty ancient residences, providing a valuable physical reference for the study of local history and architectural development in Ningbo.
