The former residence of Zhang Yuanxun is a cultural heritage site protected by Wenling City.

The former residence of Zhang Yuanxun is located at Shenjia Qiangli, Lane 122, Dongmen Street, Xinhua Town, Wenling City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. Facing south, it was originally built in a three-courtyard, nine-bay hall style. The front courtyard and the east and west wing rooms were destroyed due to human alterations. The remaining middle and rear courtyards, along with the east and west wing rooms, largely retain the original architectural features. The central area is a courtyard paved with stone slabs. The existing building covers an area of approximately 1,330 square meters. The middle courtyard has seven bays, with the central three forming the main hall. The middle bay features a raised-beam roof structure, with five beams and double steps both front and back, plus front and rear corridors. The rear courtyard has five bays, with the central bay forming the rear hall. Its roof structure combines raised beams and through-tenon construction, using ten columns and eleven rafters. The east and west wing rooms each have four bays and are two stories high. The eaves posts and column capitals of the residence are adorned with bracket sets shaped like lotus flowers. Zhang Yuanxun, styled Shichen and also known as Dongying, served as the Central Army Commander-in-Chief and was a renowned general in the resistance against Japanese pirates. He has a biography in the History of Ming. The former residence of Zhang Yuanxun is a notable historical home, notable for its grand layout and distinctive local characteristics.
