Red Thirteenth Army Monument

The Red Thirteenth Army Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of Wenling City.

The Red Thirteenth Army Monument is located within the Martyrs' Cemetery of the Second Division of the 13th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. The cemetery was built in 1985, and atop a platform near the mountain peak stands the towering Martyrs' Monument. The monument is 15 meters high, 4.1 meters long, and 2.6 meters wide. Its base is constructed from bluestone, measuring 4.53 meters in length, 3.03 meters in width, and covering an area of approximately 13.7 square meters. The main body of the monument is made of reinforced concrete, with an inscription by Zhang Aiping on the front that reads: “Monument to the Second Division of the 13th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.” Below it is an inscription by the Wenling County Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Wenling County. The cemetery currently houses the remains of 18 martyrs. The Red Thirteenth Army Monument is an important commemorative facility in the Wugen Revolutionary Base Area and holds significant cultural heritage value.
