Tung Hai Tin Hau Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Wenling City.

Tung Hai Tin Hau Temple is located in Tung Hai Village, Shi Tang Town, Wenling City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. Originally built in the 24th year of the Guangxu reign (1898) and renovated in the 6th year of the Republic of China (1917), the temple complex features a traditional quadrangle layout, comprising a mountain gate, theater stage, main hall, and east and west wing rooms, with an open courtyard in the center, covering an area of approximately 583 square meters. The main hall has seven bays and a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof. The central bay features a five-rafter structure with front and rear corridors, while the other bays are constructed using a combination of raised-beam and through-tenon techniques. Each of the two side wings has three bays and includes upper floors. The upstairs corridors are designed for spectators to sit or stand during performances, and the intricately carved wooden railings showcase distinctive local craftsmanship. The theater stage has a hip-and-gable roof, with its ridge adorned with colorful molded figures of animals, people, and flowers, all vibrant and eye-catching. The ceiling of the stage is painted with vivid scenes of various historical and legendary tales. With its well-preserved layout, compact yet refined design, Tung Hai Tin Hau Temple stands as an outstanding example of folk religious architecture.

Tung Hai Village: Tung Hai Village is situated southwest of Shi Tang Town, adjacent to Dong Hu and Sheng Hai villages. It covers a village area of about 0.5 square kilometers, with the actual built-up village area being 0.131 square kilometers. Most villagers make their living from fishing. The village has 422 households, a population of 1,238, 58 Party members, and 21 fishing boats. The residents of Tung Hai Village are descendants of people from Quanzhou, Fujian, and communicate in the Southern Min dialect. Traditional folk customs such as the Lantern Festival parade in the first lunar month, Qingming Festival, the Qixi "Little People's Festival" in July, and the Winter Solstice are well preserved. At the village pier stands a Tin Hau Temple that is a municipal cultural heritage site. On the first and fifteenth days of each lunar month, or before setting out to sea, villagers come here to pray for blessings.
