Wenfeng Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Wenling City.

Wenfeng Pagoda is located on Cuiping Mountain (also known as Elephant Trunk Mountain) in Xingfu Village, Songmen Town, Wenling City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. It was built around the early Qing Dynasty and was renovated in the 8th year of the Republic of China (1919). The structure, carvings, and decorations of the pagoda were significantly altered during the renovation, so it no longer retains its original appearance. However, the pagoda remains graceful, elegant, and exquisitely refined. The pagoda has a hexagonal floor plan, a pavilion-style design, seven stories, and is constructed of brick and stone. The bottom layer has a side length of approximately 1.46 meters, a height of about 16 meters, and covers an area of around 6 square meters. Its stone carvings and pagoda window decorations are the most distinctive features. The stone base is carved with patterns such as coins, flowers, plants, and auspicious clouds. The pagoda windows vary in shape—some are square, others are arched, some resemble flower petals, and some resemble precious vases—adding to the pagoda’s visual appeal and dynamic façade. Wenfeng Pagoda is one of the few well-preserved ancient pagodas in Wenling and holds certain historical and artistic value.

Songmen Town: Located along the southeastern coast of Zhejiang, Songmen Town is traversed by Provincial Road Lingshi, which connects to National Highway 104. It is one of the 136 central towns in the province and among the first group of central towns designated in Taizhou, as well as the center of the southeastern block within Wenling City’s “one center, five blocks” urban framework. Following an administrative division adjustment in October 2001, the former Songmen Town, Linchuan Town, and Longmen Township were merged to form the new Songmen Town. The town now covers an area of 89.6 square kilometers, has a population of 100,600, and administers 62 administrative villages and 8 neighborhood committees. It is home to 165 Party branches and 2,903 Party members.
