Li Po Bridge

Li Po Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Wenling City.

Li Po Bridge is located on Li Po Bridge Street in Ruoheng Town, Wenling City, Zhejiang Province. It spans the Yunliang River and the Mucheng River. Legend has it that an elderly woman surnamed Li, seeing the inconvenience faced by locals crossing the river, took the lead in contributing funds to build the bridge. To commemorate her, later generations named it Li Po Bridge. In the 32nd year of the Republic of China (1943), the bridge collapsed and was rebuilt as a single-arch triangular stone bridge. In 1966, it was reconstructed as a single-arch concrete pedestrian bridge. The bridge connects to Li Po Bridge Street to the northeast, stretching 16 meters; to Yahu Village to the northwest, also 16 meters long; and to Sidong Village to the south, 16 meters long and 2.37 meters wide, featuring latticed railings. Each arch of Li Po Bridge is adorned with sunflower-themed gray plaster reliefs and slogans from the era such as “Study Chairman Mao’s Writings,” “Listen to Chairman Mao’s Words,” and “Follow Chairman Mao’s Path.”
