After the municipal government moved to a new building in 2006, part of the old site was allocated to Fangcheng Primary School as a playground. The site faces south and sits on a north-south axis. Existing structures include a screen wall, a gateway, four office buildings, and an auditorium. It stretches 65 meters from east to west and 240.6 meters from north to south, covering an area of 15,639 square meters. The screen wall stands at the main entrance, located in the middle of Xianqian Road, inscribed with the five characters “为人民服务” (“Serve the People”). The main building was constructed in the 1980s and has five floors. Two office buildings were built before the liberation, while another office building for the archives was constructed in 1986, and the auditorium was built in the 1960s. The site is shaded by lush trees and enjoys a tranquil environment. As the location of the county yamen since the establishment of Wenling County, the former site of Wenling Municipal Government has witnessed the history and development of Wenling.

In February 2001, the town was restructured into a subdistrict, currently governing 14 communities and 19 administrative villages, covering a land area of 34.7 square kilometers with a permanent population of 96,000.
