No. 52, Honglou Lane, Songmen Renlu Folk House is located at No. 52, Honglou Lane, Songmen Town, Wenling City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. It faces south, has a brick-and-stone structure, and covers an area of 1.88 square meters. The stone door frame is connected to a square brick pillar on the outside, with an openwork design inside the pillar, left plain. The square pillar is linked to an outward-facing “eight-character” shadow wall, also left plain. Outside the shadow wall is another square brick pillar, and above the lintel there is an openwork design containing an inscribed bluestone plaque. The plaque bears the two characters 忍庐 (“Renlu”) in semi-cursive script, signed “Wenruo, Summer of Renwu,” with a seal underneath. “Wenruo” refers to Sha Menghai, and “Renwu Summer” indicates the summer of 1942. This plaque was inscribed by Mr. Sha Menghai in 1942 for his father-in-law’s family home.

Songmen Town: Located along the southeastern coast of Zhejiang, Songmen Town is traversed by Provincial Highway Linshi Line, which connects to National Highway 104. It is one of the province’s 136 central towns and among the first group of central towns in Taizhou. It also serves as the southeastern hub within Wenling City’s “one center, five zones” urban framework. Following an administrative division adjustment in October 2001, the former Songmen, Linchuan, and Longmen towns were merged to form the new Songmen Town. The town now covers an area of 89.6 square kilometers, with a population of 100,600, and governs 62 administrative villages and 8 residential communities.
