The Cai Family Ancestral Hall is located at No. 386, Citan’An, Houyang Village, Hengfeng Subdistrict, Wenling City, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province. Based on its architectural style and oral accounts from local elders of the Cai family, the hall was rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and consists of an entrance gate (tai men), side wings on the left and right, and a main hall. It stretches 21.6 meters from east to west and 23 meters from north to south, covering an area of 496.8 square meters. The entrance gate is a seven-bay single-eave flush-gable flat-roofed building. The central and side bays form the main gate, and the gable walls are decorated with five-tier Guanyin hoods. The side wings are four-bay single-eave flush-gable flat-roofed buildings, with the central and side bays featuring a combination of raised-beam and through-tenon construction. They have five-purlin beams supported by two columns. The main hall has seven bays. The central and side bays are double-eave flush-gable high flat-roofed structures, while the east and west wings are double-eave flush-gable multi-story structures. The central and side bays use seven-purlin raised-beam structures, with a front porch supported by four columns. The central bay houses ancestral statues. The roof is double-sloped with small grey tiles.

The Cai Family Ancestral Hall retains its complete structure and is well preserved. It is one of the few surviving ancestral halls in Wenling and serves as an important site for descendants of the Cai family to conduct worship ceremonies.
