Heyang Village is located in Jinyun County in central Zhejiang, situated at the junction of Ou, Wu, and Tai regions, just 6 kilometers from the exit of the Jinwen Expressway. The village currently has 956 farming households, with an agricultural population of 3,021, and a total land area of 6,500 mu, including 1,460 mu of arable land. Historically, due to poor transportation, the local economy was relatively underdeveloped, and the area has long been primarily agricultural.

In recent years, with the development of the social economy, Heyang Village has undergone tremendous changes. In 2005, the village’s agricultural income totaled 4.5 million yuan, while income from secondary and tertiary industries as well as migrant work exceeded 17 million yuan, and the village collective income reached 583,000 yuan. According to sample survey statistics, the per capita net income of villagers was 5,585 yuan. The village owns over 30 various types of vehicles and nearly 500 motorcycles. Infrastructure such as roads, streetlights, water supply, and drainage has been further improved, enhancing convenience, safety, and overall security.

Heyang Village is not only surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, but also preserves a large number of well-preserved, scattered ancient residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. In the old days, the local sages always advocated the values of "farming and scholarship." Over the dynasties, the village produced many top imperial examination scholars and successful candidates in the highest imperial examinations. Upon entering the village gate, one can see the so-called "Eight Scholars Gate." It is said that this gate was built by predecessors to commemorate the fact that the village produced eight scholars during the Song and Yuan dynasties, dating back as early as the late Yuan Dynasty. The carvings in front of the gate were bestowed by Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang. In recent years, the local area has developed an "ancient residential tourism industry," attracting an increasing number of visitors, many of whom come specially from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, and other places. In 2005, the village received over 9,300 tourists, and in the first nine months of 2006, the number exceeded 10,000.

Heyang Village is an ancient settlement with a history of a thousand years. To this day, it preserves more than 1,500 ancient residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, 15 ancient ancestral halls, 6 ancient temples, 1 ancient stone bridge, and is home to the unique traditional art of "Heyang Paper-cutting." In the year 2000, the village was approved as a provincial-level historical and cultural preservation zone, and has been designated as a sketching and experimental base by more than ten institutions, including the China Academy of Art and Zhejiang Gongshang University.

The cultural and recreational life in Heyang Village is rich and diverse. The village has established dragon dance teams, waist drum teams, elderly activity groups, fitness ball teams, and more. The village’s elderly association has won advanced honors six times. The village has also been awarded honorary titles such as Lishui City Model Village for New Rural Construction and Sanitation Advanced Unit.
