Huzhen Town

Huzhen Town was originally called "Huchen." It is located in the northeast of Jinyun County, 25 kilometers from the county seat, and situated on the alluvial plain of Haoxi River at the northern foot of the Kuocang Mountains. The Ma'an Mountain stands before it, the Shilong Mountain coils behind it, the Kuocang range stretches around it, while flat fields and crisscrossing paths spread out as villages dot the landscape and factories and shops stand in great numbers.

The emerald-green Haoxi River flows like an elegant jade ribbon through the southern part of the town. Huzhen is located in the hinterland where three ancient prefectures (Chuzhou, Wuzhou, and Taizhou in ancient times, corresponding to today’s Lishui, Jinhua, and Taizhou cities) and four counties (Jinyun, Yongkang, Pan’an, and Xianju) meet. To the east it connects to Xianju, to the west to Yongkang, and to the south it links with the ancient Cangling post road leading to the county seat, where a post station was once established.

Huzhen Town: Located in Huzhen Town, Jinyun County, it lies on the upper reaches of the Haoxi River, a tributary of the Ou River, in the northernmost part of Lishui. It sits at the junction of Lishui, Jinhua, and Taizhou cities, within the hinterland of Jinyun, Yongkang, Pan’an, and Xianju counties and cities, and is one of the three major ancient towns in southern Zhejiang. It is 25 kilometers from the county seat, covers a total area of 228 square kilometers, and has a population of 100,000 (including 20,000 migrants). The town administers 130 administrative villages, 5 neighborhood committees, and 202 Party branches.

It boasts a superior geographical location. Provincial Highway 35 and Provincial Highway 42 run through the town both east-west and north-south, and it is only 20 kilometers south of the exit for the Jinhua–Wenzhou Railway and the Jinhua–Lishui–Wenzhou Expressway.
