Kuocang Ancient Road (also known as Kuocang Ancient Trail)

The Kuocang Ancient Road (i.e., Kuocang Ancient Trail) was first built in the late Tang and early Song dynasties. It connects to the Xian (Xianju)–Jin (Jinyun) Ancient Road to the north and serves as a major passage linking Wenzhou and Chuzhou, as well as a key route from the Ou River basin to the capital. Stretching 50 li from Fan Village in Dongdu Town, Jinyun, all the way to Yanquan Village in Lishui City.

Transportation

Take bus No. 8 from Lishui East Station to Fan Village in Dongdu Town, Jinyun. Inform the ticket conductor that you are going to hike the Kuocang Ancient Road—they will let you know where to get off. After disembarking, simply follow the ancient road. There are settlements along the way, so you generally won’t need to ask for directions.
