Announced: December 12, 1989

Located in Bai'mao Village, Qianlu Township. Commonly known as the Scholar’s Gate. This wooden archway was built by Zhao Zongrong, a scholar from the Ming Yongle Gengzi (1420) imperial examination. It has a two-pillar, single-bay structure with side gables, a width of 5.40 meters and a depth of 4.90 meters. The pillars are supported by stone bases, and each pillar top features a five-curved bracket set. The upward-curving ang elements support the rafters, creating a grand architectural appearance. The structure remains well-preserved today, and the carved plaque on it reads “Bai'mao Yunqu Archway.” Information source: Zhejiang Cultural Relics Network

Bai'mao Village: 【Bai'mao Village】 A village sharing the same name as its administrative seat. Covers an area of about 3.3 square kilometers. Includes one natural village, divided into 5 villager groups. Has 234 households and 738 residents. Farmland covers 328 mu, forestland 3,621 mu. Major produce includes tea and waxberries over an area of 600 mu. Bai'mao waxberries are well-known in Huzhen.

Bai'mao is located 1.2 kilometers south of Qianlu on a hillside. Elevation: 291 meters. Village houses are terraced along the hillside. Most villagers are surnamed Zhao. According to the *Bai'mao Zhao Clan Genealogy*, Zhao Tingmei, the ninth-generation descendant of Wei King Zhao Tingmei of the Song Dynasty, had a descendant named Zhao Junfu who migrated from Suzhu, Yongkang, around the first year of Baoying during Emperor Lizong’s reign. “He found beside the King’s Tomb a place with unique rocks and animal-shaped stones...” More details about Bai'mao Village ++
