Situated at the junction of five counties—Songyang, Suichang, Wuyi, Jinhua, and Longyou—and at the exit of the Longli Expressway, the area boasts convenient transportation.
Changlian Cultural Village: With a long history, beautiful environment, and talented people, Changlian Village has profound historical and cultural heritage, picturesque natural scenery, and outstanding tourism resources. Known as "Millennial Changlian" and the "Hometown of Number One Scholars."
There are over ten leisure tourism attractions in Changlian Village, including Anshan Academy, the Zheng Family Ancestral Hall, the Residence of Zheng Binghou, Chishan Temple, Bell and Drum Tower, Gongzheng Pavilion, and the Jiulongkunxi Water Mountain Amusement Park, among which some are yet to be developed. The supporting facilities of the Anshan Academy Scenic Area include hotels, restaurants, conference halls, making it an ideal place for cultural leisure tourism and hosting small-scale conferences.
Anshan Academy: Built during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era, it has a history of over 400 years. It is named Anshan Academy because it is located on the gentle slope of Ma’an Mountain in the southern part of Changlian Village.
The academy features a traditional courtyard-style building structure with three sections, three bays, two wing rooms, and post-and-lintel construction. Covering an area of nearly 700 square meters, it reflects the architectural style of Jiangnan residential buildings during the Ming Dynasty. The roof has a slightly convex central curve, upturned eaves, moon-shaped beams, tapered columns, and Yuan Dynasty-originating plain drum-shaped column bases. The Ming Dynasty scholar Zheng Binghou once studied here, and Yang Shouqin, a scholar from Siming, served as a teacher here.
Legend has it that in the 30th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1602 AD), Yang Shouqin, a scholar from Ningbo, traveled to Anshan Academy in Changlian Village. Impressed by the beautiful scenery, he stayed to teach at the academy. In the 32nd year of Wanli, Yang went to the capital to take the imperial examination and achieved the top rank—Zhuangyuan (Number One Scholar). Upon hearing the news, the villagers were overjoyed, hanging red lanterns in every household, posting celebratory couplets, and setting off firecrackers in a lively celebration. Later, when Yang took an official position in the capital, he maintained close ties with the villagers of Changlian.
Yue Dong Family Style: "Yue Dong Family Style" refers to the family tradition of Wang Yuandong. "Yue Dong" is the courtesy name of Wang Zi, also known as Jieweng, who styled himself Yue Dong. He was from Hushan, Suichang. He once served as the magistrate of Jinxī County (now part of Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province). During the Song Dynasty’s Xiangxing era, he resigned from office and returned to seclusion, composing poetry and passing the time. He authored the two-volume "Shuidong Poetry Collection." Tang Xianzu, during his tenure in Suichang, wrote a preface for his poetry collection and, out of admiration for Yue Dong’s character and poetic style, inscribed the phrase “A Lone Man Under the Trees.”
In 2003, Yue Dong Family Style was relocated from the old town area of Suichang County to Anshan Academy and restored. The entire structure features white walls and black tiles, with an elegant and simple style, adjacent to Anshan Academy.
Shicha Pavilion: Located on the western side of the water reservoir halfway up the mountain on the way to Anshan Academy, this pavilion is a wooden, hip-and-gable-roofed structure. It is said that the pavilion was built based on the custom of "doucha" (tea competitions), hence it is also called the Doucha Pavilion.
The villagers of Changlian Village carry on the traditional local custom of hospitality by serving locally produced tea to visitors and performing tea ceremonies. This pavilion is also a place for tourists to rest and enjoy panoramic views of Changlian.
Jiulongkunxi (Nine-Bend Lianxi Stream): Lianxi Stream originates from Matou Suzhuang Beach, flows through Yunfeng Town, and joins the Jinxi Stream at Zhuangshan. With a long history, the village is named after the stream. Two mountains stand at the water outlet: one resembles a giant python lying across the water, called "Snake Mountain," and the other looks like a divine turtle gazing forward, called "Turtle Mountain." Together, Turtle and Snake Mountains form what looks like a large dam, with the gap between them resembling the dam’s gate, hence the name "Turtle-Snake Dam Water Outlet." Legend says that the True Martial Emperor stands in the middle, with the Golden Boy and Jade Girl on either side—his left foot on the snake and right foot on the turtle—giving the Turtle-Snake Dam Water Outlet a majestic presence.
Since the self-poured waterwheel and serpentine-shaped weir dam were built and the Four Great Princes were worshipped, the dam has never been washed away by floods. It not only protects the water outlet of Changlian Village but also safeguards the water outlet of the entire eastern part of Suichang. Lianxi Stream flows westward after Qianxiami, then turns southward at Buxiantan. The heads of the Snake and Turtle face each other in the middle of the two curved streams, creating a spectacular sight.
