Longpan Temple Scenic Area

The Longpan Temple Scenic Area is a cultural tourism attraction.

Longpan Temple is a famous historical site in Jinhua, located in Zhongrou Village, Xiaoshun Town, eastern Jinhua County. It lies 32 kilometers west of Jinhua City, 27 kilometers east of Yiwu City, bordered by the continuous peaks of the southern mountain range to the south and facing the clear waters of the Wu River to the north. The total area spans 11.8 square kilometers. 　

Longpan Temple has a long history, having been originally built during the Tianjian era of the Liang Dynasty (502–519 AD), making it over 1,400 years old. At that time, the temple complex comprised more than 120 rooms, featuring majestic and magnificent architecture with an extraordinary presence. During the Anti-Japanese War, Longpan Temple served as the base for the Eighth Brigade of the Jinhua Detachment of the East Zhejiang Guerrilla Forces. The Longpan Scenic Area consists of four sections: Longpan Temple, Jiuyou Stream, Qinglong Bay, and Bailong Pool. 　

The Longpan Temple Scenic Area serves as the central section of the Longpan Scenic Area. Key attractions such as Longpan Temple, a complex of ancient Chinese architecture, and the Sword-Testing Stone are all located here. There are also sites closely associated with Longpan Temple, including Coiling Dragon Playing with a Pearl, Elephant Trunk Hill, Lion Hill, and Bodhidharma’s Well. This is a scenic area primarily themed around Buddhist culture while also offering sightseeing and leisure functions.
