Chisong Garden

A mountain need not be high to be famous if it is home to an immortal. Chisong Mountain boasts lofty peaks, pristine waters, peculiar rocks, and mysterious caves.

Legend has it that the highly mystical Huang Daxian (Yellow Immortal) attained enlightenment and became immortal here. This is evidenced by the “Chisong Mountain Annals” in the Complete Library of the Four Treasuries, as well as records in the “Jinhua Prefecture Annals” from the Ming Dynasty and the “Mountain Retreat Annals” from the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties.

Traces of the immortal can be found throughout scenic areas such as Pill Refinement Mountain and Reclining Sheep Mountain, and every plant and tree on the mountain is steeped in touching legends. These enhance the natural beauty of the landscape and imbue it with even greater charm.

Visitors to this scenery often find themselves enchanted and reluctant to leave. Ge Hong of the Jin Dynasty, in his work Baopuzi · Jindan Pian (The Master Who Embraces Simplicity · The Gold Elixir Chapter), quoted the “Immortal Scripture” by Zuo Yuanfang of the Eastern Han Dynasty, which states: “This place can host the divine and is free from the threat of floods.” Admission & Opening Hours

To get to the Chisong Huang Daxian Palace Scenic Area from Jinhua, you can take Bus You 9, which departs from the Institute of Technology, passes by Jinhua Hotel, People’s Square, People’s Hospital, and Dongguan, and takes about 30 minutes to arrive.
