The newly built bullfighting arena is located by the picturesque Huhaitang Lake in the Jinhua Jiangnan Economic Development Zone, covering an area of 8,000 square meters with an initial construction investment of several million yuan. The arena includes an indoor antique-style grandstand, an open-air stand, and a range of supporting service facilities. Outside the arena, there is a parking lot capable of accommodating dozens of extra-long tourist buses. Since October 4, 1992, the “Jinhua Bullfighting” event has grandly commenced on the Double Ninth Festival each year, accompanied by a major bullfighting competition.

Jinhua bullfighting is “bull versus bull,” differing from the Spanish style of man versus bull, and is hailed as “Oriental civilized bullfighting.” The thrilling and spectacular scenes it presents are truly breathtaking.

In the past, bullfights were often held during the agricultural off-season, typically in vast paddy fields. As soon as firecrackers sounded, the two bulls would approach each other, and their handlers would pull out the ropes. The bulls would then begin to clash fiercely, neither yielding. Each bull employed various tactics such as locking horns, hooking, ramming, butting, and lowering the head, avoiding the strong points and striking the weak, striving for victory with unexpected moves. They would give their all, aiming to overpower their opponent into retreat. The audience also took great delight in watching these thrilling and magnificent scenes.
