The “Jiangnan Water Town” is a highlight of Hengdian World Studios. This scenic area captures the essence of the water towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and serves as Hengdian’s signature nighttime attraction. Upon entering the “Water Town,” one is greeted by strings of lanterns hanging everywhere, moonlit bridges over flowing water, wine shop flags fluttering, railings to lean on, shimmering waters, and oleanders by the little bridges blooming vibrantly, almost as if stepping into the bustling streets of the Ming and Qing dynasties—except here there is a greater sense of tranquility, where even the chirping of summer insects can be heard clearly.

Scenes of flash floods, often seen on TV, are also recreated here. Visitors who are interested can even pick up a basin and join in a “water-splashing festival”! Films and TV dramas shot here include "The Granary of the World," "The Exquisite Lady," "April in the Human World," "The Book and the Sword," and "Stories to Caution the World," among others.

　The “Jiangnan Water Town” is the only nighttime attraction at Hengdian World Studios. This filming base, which embodies the essence of Jiangsu and Zhejiang water towns, blends the charm and elegance of ancient Jiangnan towns and boasts strong characteristics of a riverside settlement. The entire site is divided into three major scenic areas: the Island-Encircling Shop District, the Water-and-Land Opera District, and the Riverside Residential Area. Within these zones, narrow alleys, stone bridges, and boat-filled waters form a quaint and elegant picture. The unique architecture and simple local customs allow visitors to fully experience the timeless charm of the Jiangnan water towns.

The buildings within the scenic area vary in height and are interspersed along the bends of the river. Ancient bridges appear and disappear amid the scenery, while green willows sway gently above the water. The panoramic view includes riverfront market streets, Jian Shui Lane, Wan Sheng Street, Yong An Li, and Li Jia Lane, among others. Distributed throughout are more than 100 quaint and elegant representative sites, such as Tao Ran Ju, Er Quan Ge, the “Four Springs” Building, Feng Ya Xuan, Wan Gu Zhai, Heng Chang Pawnshop, Ji Shi Tang, Huan Zhu Ting, the Ancient Theater Stage, the River God Temple, the Five Lords Shrine, Ban Mu Tang, and river docks. There are also eight uniquely designed stone arch bridges. Its delicate beauty rivals that of a “heavenly paradise.”
