Suzhou Revolutionary Museum

The Suzhou Revolutionary Museum is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Suzhou Revolutionary Museum is located at No. 1216 Sanxiang Road, Suzhou. Approved by the Suzhou Municipal Committee and Government of the Communist Party of China, it was established and opened to the public in 1993. The museum covers a total area of 10,000 square meters, with a main building of 7,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,000 square meters. The exterior of the museum is simple and dignified, featuring a strong local character and distinct "revolutionary" features.

The museum’s basic exhibitions consist of two parts: the first is the "Exhibition on the Revolutionary History of Suzhou." Through more than 300 photographs, over 200 physical objects, and more than 100 charts, artworks, scene models, and holographic displays, it systematically, truthfully, and vividly presents the revolutionary struggles carried out by the people of Suzhou under the leadership of the Communist Party of China during various historical periods of the New Democratic Revolution, as well as the moving deeds of the martyrs. It highlights historical materials about over 30 early prominent revolutionary activists of the Party and national leaders who engaged in revolutionary activities in Suzhou. Starting from April 2004, the "Exhibition on the Revolutionary History of Suzhou" has been open to the public free of charge year-round. The second is the large-scale multimedia semi-panoramic painting demonstration project "Battle Flames of Yangcheng," which is based on the stories of unity between the military and civilians in resisting the Japanese along the shores of Yangcheng Lake during the War of Resistance. The demonstration combines sound, light, electricity, and other techniques with a giant 1,000-square-meter oil painting and a 500-square-meter scene model, creating a special artistic effect that offers visitors an immersive experience.

In addition to the basic exhibitions, the Revolutionary Museum also has two flexible exhibition halls on the east and west sides. Based on thematic publicity tasks and audience needs, it continuously hosts temporary exhibitions that reflect contemporary trends and appeal to visitors. These include topics such as revolutionary tradition education, current affairs and political propaganda, science education, culture and art, among others.
