The Yu Family Ancestral Hall (Shantang Film & TV Base)

The Yu Family Ancestral Hall (Shantang Film & TV Base) is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Yu Family Ancestral Hall is located at No. 502 Shantang Street. Originally built in the late Qing Dynasty, it was reconstructed in 1924. Facing south, the hall currently consists of two courtyards. The second courtyard is the main hall, which is nine meters wide and 7.7 meters deep, featuring three bays. The wooden beams are round in shape, with a crane-neck-style upturned eave at the front and granite drum-shaped column bases.

The ancestral hall was first converted into Dade Primary School and later became the Dade Branch of Shantang Central Primary School. It is now being renovated into the Shantang Film & TV Base. The original ancestral hall structure has been preserved, while other buildings from the former school will be transformed into mock Western-style houses in the style of the Republican era.

Covering an area of over 3,000 square meters, the film base features two Western-style buildings designed in the Republican era style, forming the backdrop for a Republican-era commercial street. The well-preserved Yu Family Ancestral Hall, a controlled heritage building, has also become a highlight of the film base. Additionally, a life-size replica train carriage makes Asia the only film base in the country with a simulated railway station setting.
