The Time Museum is an educational science base.

In modern times, as technology advances, people use clocks, mobile phones, and computers to tell time. But how did our ancestors keep track of time? The Time Museum, located at No. 7 Daru Lane in Suzhou, offers a comprehensive educational experience.

The exhibition area of the Time Museum is mainly divided into several sections: the sundial timekeeping zone, water-powered timekeeping zone, Suzhou clock display zone, stele drip timekeeping zone, and computer simulation interactive zone. Exhibits include physical objects, models, interactive displays, and informative panels. Interactive exhibits in the museum include the Earth Clock, Incense Dripper (an incense-based timer), Stele Dripper (a rolling timer), hourglass, an operational model demonstrating the escapement mechanism of the Water-Powered Armillary Sphere and Celestial Globe (the ancestor of modern clocks), and an interactive Zodiac Birthday Column.

Additionally, the venue features five series of illustrated panels: “Sun-Earth Relationship,” “Complete Solar System Map,” “History of the Universe,” “Future of the Universe,” and “Various Timekeeping Instruments,” helping visitors understand the nature of time, its measurement, and calculation methods.

Citizens interested in the museum can visit during weekends in the summer from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free. Bus riders may get off at Cufangqiao Guanqian Street East Station and walk to the museum.
