The Liuyuan Subdistrict Botanical Science Museum, named “Beautiful Homes, Happy Lives,” is the first community-based botanical science museum in Suzhou. It was carefully designed with the guiding principle of “botanical science education for a better life, and horticultural displays for beautiful homes.”

The museum is located at No. 17, North Area, Nijia Yuan, Xiyuan Road, Suzhou City, within the Shuofangzhuang Community of Liuyuan Subdistrict, Gusu District, with a total exhibition area of approximately 350 square meters. The venue is mainly divided into an indoor visual center and an outdoor botanical garden. The indoor visual center is equipped with hardware such as a circular large screen, microscopes, and interactive touchscreens, along with plant knowledge introduced through graphic panels and various themed botanical landscape displays. The outdoor botanical garden has nearly 100 varieties of characteristic plants, flowers, and trees from Suzhou. Additionally, there is a “horticultural grid plot” experience area where citizens can engage firsthand in the entire process from sowing and fertilizing to watering, blooming, fruiting, and harvesting—turning the virtual “Happy Farm” online into reality.
