Yan Jiagan’s Former Residence is a cultural heritage protection unit of Suzhou.

Yan Jiagan’s Former Residence is located in Dexin Lane, Changmen Community, Gusu District, and dates back to the Republican era.

On August 23, 2019, Yan Jiagan’s Former Residence was designated as part of the eighth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Suzhou.

Yan Jiagan (gàn) (October 23, 1905 – December 24, 1993), childhood name Yusun, original name Jingbo, also known as Lanfen, courtesy name Jingbo, was a native of Wuxian (now Suzhou), Jiangsu. As a child, he attended Mudu Primary School and graduated from St. John’s University in Shanghai in 1926. In 1931, he served as the Materials Department Director of the Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Railway Administration. In 1939, he was transferred to serve as the Construction Minister and Finance Minister of the Fujian Provincial Government. He gained prominence for designing and implementing the “grain tax in kind” system.
