Scattered across approximately 16 square kilometers southwest of Sheyang Lake Town are numerous earthen mounds of varying heights and sizes—these are the historically known “Sheyang Mounds.” Due to their large number, they are commonly referred to as the “Nine Li, One Thousand Mounds” Han Tombs Cluster. These relatively concentrated earthen tombs provide rich physical evidence for understanding the politics, economy, culture, and history of Sheyang County during the Han Dynasty.
