China Wu Culture Expo Park

China Wu Culture Expo Park is located in the Wuxi High-Tech District of Jiangsu Province. It was approved for construction by the Wuxi Municipal Government in June 2008 and is positioned as a cultural tourism destination themed around the protection and development of Wu culture in the Yangtze River Delta region. The main functional area covers 18 square kilometers, with a radiation zone also spanning 18 square kilometers. The scenic area borders the 3,200-year-old ancient Taibo Canal to the north, faces the Taihu Lake tributary Wangyu River to the south, and adjoins Suzhou’s Caohu area to the east. With a beautiful ecological environment, it lies in a golden triangular area surrounded by water on three sides. The park enjoys a unique location—just 20 kilometers from downtown Wuxi and 23 kilometers from downtown Suzhou—serving as a key link between the two cities. The area offers convenient transportation, being only 7–8 kilometers from Sunan Shuofang International Airport, the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, and the Wuxi Station of the Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway. Major highways such as the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and the Taihu Lake Ring Expressway are all within a 10-kilometer radius.

The scenic area boasts a wealth of historical and cultural heritage sites, making it an important birthplace and guardian of Wu culture. Key attractions include the “Three Tais and One Site” (Taibo Canal, Taibo Mausoleum, Taibo Temple, and the Hongshan Grand Historical Site), the Meili Ancient Town, the Zhaosi Hall, and the Huaihai Charitable Manor, among many other historic relics. There are also completed projects such as the Wuxi Lianghong National Wetland Park, the China Stone Appreciation Park, the Wuxi High-Tech District Radisson Resort Hotel (a five-star hotel), and the Urban Agricultural Eco-Park, as well as ongoing developments like 8090 Wu Region New Countryside, Vast Farmland Project, and the Hongshan Cultural New Town.

The 18-square-kilometer main functional area is planned into six zones: the Hongshan Historical Site Protection Zone, the Lianghong Wetland Ecological Protection Zone, the Wu Culture Entertainment & Experience Zone, the Dafangqiao Creative Living Community, the Hongshan Eco-Leisure Resort Zone, and the Wuyun New Town Commercial & Residential Zone.
