Lianghong National Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a national water conservancy scenic area, and a national wetland park.

Lianghong National Wetland Park is situated in the southeastern part of Wuxi, within the China Wu Culture Expo Park area of the Wuxi New District. It lies close to the Taibo Canal, borders Caohu Lake to the east, and is adjacent to Wangyu River to the south. The park is named after the beautiful legend of Liang Hong and Meng Guang “raising the tray to the eyebrows” that took place here. The planned area of the park is 4.5 square kilometers, with 2 square kilometers currently developed. The park combines the natural wild charm of an ecological wetland, the allure of water culture, and the simplicity of rural scenery. It serves as a habitat for diverse wildlife and a popular leisure and recreational destination.

The park features interconnected water bodies, shaded greenery, swaying boats, and flying birds, creating a refreshing and delightful atmosphere. Facilities include dining, conference rooms, tea bars, karaoke, as well as outdoor activities such as self-service barbecues, field adventures, fishing, boating on the lake, paintball (real-life CS), and cycling. It is an ideal place to experience rural charm, connect with nature, and relax both physically and mentally.

As one of the featured attractions of the China Wu Culture Expo Park, this wetland park will develop six functional zones and two special tourist routes. Visitors can take traditional wooden boat rides, learn the soft tones of the Wu dialect, listen to local folk songs, and enjoy the charm of the water town. Additionally, historical narratives such as the water management efforts of Taibo, the founding ancestor of the Jiangnan region, and the romantic love story of Liang Hong and Meng Guang, provide thematic backdrops for land-based tours. These explore Wu regional culture elements such as water conservancy, farming, earthen bridges, farmhouses, and love stories. At the 2011 China Wetland Culture Festival and Asian Wetland Forum held in Wuxi, Lianghong Wetland Park, along with 11 other pilot wetland parks, was upgraded to a fully official national wetland park, standing alongside Hangzhou’s Xixi Wetland.
