China Industrial Expo Park

China Industrial Expo Park spans Wuxi New District and Xishan District, covering a planned area of 8.66 square kilometers, including a core area of 3.9 square kilometers located in Jiangxi Subdistrict, Wuxi New District. It is one of the eight key expo parks being developed in the city. In September 2009, the Administrative Committee of Wuxi New District Industrial Expo Park was officially established. After three years of development, leveraging a forward-looking vision that extends from the "post-industrial era" to both "high-tech industries" and "modern service sectors," the core area of the Expo Park — a functional zone primarily dedicated to the clustered development of modern services — is rapidly rising in Wuxi New District.

The development of the core area of China Industrial Expo Park began in 2004. Its predecessor was the Commerce and Business Function Zone of Wuxi New District, serving as one of the major hubs for modern services in the district and an important site for Wuxi’s push toward transformation and development. In 2009, in line with the functional positioning of the core area, a new urban planning and city image design scheme was completed. This not only refined the industrial layout and supporting functions but also placed greater emphasis on enhancing environmental ecology and construction quality. Additionally, the park's CIS design was finalized and is now being fully implemented.

The planned layout of the core area of China Industrial Expo Park follows a "three-axis, five-zone" structure. The "three axes" consist of the industrial development axis along Textile City Avenue, the urban development axis along Jincheng East Road, and the ecological landscape axis along Xianxinbang. The "five zones" include the product exhibition and sales zone, business and financial zone, logistics services zone, e-commerce zone, and supporting services zone.

Development Plan

The foundational development and construction of the core area of the Expo Park are progressing rapidly. Within the "five vertical and five horizontal" road network system, five major roads including Textile City Avenue and Jincheng East Road have been fully opened, while the rest are partially completed and swiftly extending across the entire area. The Integrated Management Service Building of the Expo Park, which combines office, conference, and exhibition functions, was completed in September 2009. The Expo Park Management Center and the Administrative Service Center have since relocated to the new premises. Construction of Wuxi East Bus Station commenced, and after its completion and launch in 2010, it became a secondary hub for urban public transport and long-distance passenger services in eastern Wuxi. Since 2009, urban landscape renovation projects have been completed along Textile City Avenue, Fanghe Road, and part of Xianxinbang. Urban lighting projects and comprehensive environmental improvements focusing on traffic nodes have been advancing in an orderly manner, significantly elevating the overall image and quality of the park. Over the past three years, eight major service-oriented carrier projects have been launched. These include the Industrial Design Center (HQ Economic Park), Wuzhou International, New World International, Shenzhen-Hong Kong International, Southern Stainless Steel, Oriental Auto, Universal International, and the Logistics Center. The total planned construction area of these eight projects is 3.7 million square meters, with 2.1 million square meters already under construction and 1.5 million square meters completed (opened).

The industrial agglomeration effect of the core area of the Expo Park is becoming increasingly evident. The park has already attracted six major service-oriented carrier projects: the China Industrial Expo Park Industrial Design Center (International HQ Economic Park), Wuxi Oriental International Auto Exhibition and Trading Center, China Southern International Stainless Steel Trading Center, Wuxi Wuzhou International Industrial Products Trading Center, Wuxi New World International Textile and Apparel Trading Center, and Wuxi Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Service Outsourcing Base. These six projects cover a total planned area of 2.01 square kilometers, with a total construction area of 3.46 million square meters. Completed area amounts to 1.05 million square meters, and 840,000 square meters are currently under construction. Among these, Phase I of the Wuzhou International Industrial Products Trading Center and Phase I of the New World International Textile and Apparel Trading Center have been completed and opened.
