Xiaowang Village Kiln Complex

Xiaowang Village Kiln Complex is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangsu Province.

is a pottery-making site from the Southern Song Dynasty, boasting a history of over a thousand years. Within the village’s 6.3-square-kilometer area, more than 20 ancient kiln sites are scattered, with diameters ranging from about 30 meters to nearly 100 meters. The height of accumulated debris varies from 5 to 10 meters. Judging from the distribution of pottery fragments, these kilns were in operation for an extended period and had huge output, making it one of the key production sites of daily-use ceramics in Yixing during the Song Dynasty. With its long history and significant scientific research value, the Xiaowang Ancient Kiln Site was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in 2002 and a national-level one in 2006.
