Bixian Nunnery is also known as Bixian Rock Stele. This stele was listed as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit of Yixing City in December 1994. It is said to have been the study place of Zhu Yingtai from the Western Jin Dynasty. Currently, outside the rear cave of Shanjuan, there stands a long stele engraved with the three large characters “Bixian Nunnery.” The stele is shield-shaped, approximately 2.5 meters in height, and erected against the mountain. The three characters “Bixian Nunnery” were written by Li Bin, the Tang Dynasty prefect and military governor of Fengxiang, in Wei-style regular script. The font is plump, dignified, and graceful.
